Evenings at the Château de Rixensart

Initiated by the province of Walloon Brabant in 2020, the “Place for artists” action aims to revive culture, tourism and local commerce hard hit by the coronavirus crisis.

As part of the 2021 edition of Place aux artistes , the ASBL Festival Est-Ouest and the Merode – Rixensart Foundation are joining forces to create Les Soirées M usicales au Château de Rixensart . This festival will take place over two weekends and will offer four concerts highlighting artists from Walloon Brabant and more particularly Rixensartois. During this festival, the public will discover classical music concerts accessible to all in the magnificent setting of the interior courtyard of the Rixensart castle. The acoustics of this courtyard are ideal for concerts. It can accommodate a large audience despite health measures and its galleries offer shelter in the event of rain. In addition to the concert, spectators will have the opportunity to book a guided tour of the castle.

This original project combining music and heritage will make it possible to offer high-quality activities which will strengthen the tourist attractiveness of the town of Rixensart by promoting its heritage as well as its artists.
